[Copy of Letter to County of NOACA Appointment .pdf]

[Special Meeting Agenda .pdf]

Here is what happened on Jan. 29, 2010.  I dropped off a letter that was constructed at last nights LCTA NOACA Task Force meeting to Jerry Innes at his office this morning around 11 am.  I also spoke with Jerry.  He was not pleased after he read the letter.  (A copy of the letter that I delivered is attached.)   I also dropped off the same letter to the Chronicle and Morning Journal.

Attorney Dennis O' Toole attended the meeting last night, Jan. 28th, that was held in Pittsfield Township .  He informed the task force as to what direction we could go.  There is a 30 day window from the time the Commissioners appointed the NOACA representative to file an appeal.  The Commissioners appointed Virginia Haynes at a special called meeting on December 30, 2009.  When Dennis found out the exact date of the appointment there was a very shortl window of opportunity for the LCTA to appeal.  The 30 day deadline was today. The 3 LCTA officers in attendance, Scheithauer, Lynch and Magyar, gave  Dennis O'Toole  permission to file the appeal.  It was later determined that all 18 townships had to be included and listed along with the LCTA.   This appeal had to be filed this morning.

Jerry Innes called me at 4:25 pm today.  He was very upset with the LCTA for filing the appeal.  "He stated this was like Pearl Harbor .  The Association attacked with no warning."  I told Jerry, the Association got the same kind of attack from the Commissioners when they made their appointment without notifying us.

A special meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 pm in Elyria Township .  It will be at the Elyria City Schools Central Administration Center  and Kindergarten Village 42101 Griswold Rd.  The school is located about 1/2 mile west of Lake Ave.   This meeting is for the LCTA elected officials only.  A paper ballot vote will be conducted on what direction the Association wants to go with this issue.  Attorney O'toole will be in attendance to answer any questions or concerns that anyone may have.  He will also explain todays actions.
